I’m Bill (aka XK9). I am a human person living in Los Angeles. I am a graphic designer, motion designer, and sometime illustrator and cartoonist. I’ve lived my life on both coasts of the US, starting in Rhode Island, Boston, and the lower Adirondacks of New York State. I moved to Los Angeles in 1990 to join a growing TV design company. I met my wife Danielle, we married 25 years ago, and LA became my home.

You can see examples of my work at XK9.com.

I am a toy collector. Most of my collection is of Mid-00s art toys. My favorite designer of the genre is Domestika Instructor Nathan Jurevicius. My love of his art turned into a friendship and a collaboration with Nathan. I designed the cover for his 2015 graphic novel Birthmark.

I keep returning to my roots of drawing and my love of comedy. My favorite cartoonists growing up started with Charles Schulz and moved on to Mort Walker, Mort Drucker, Sergío Aragónes, Mike Peters, Jeff MacNelly, and R. Crumb. My modern cartoon inspirations are James Jarvis, Pete Fowler, Frank Kozik, Shag, and Ragnar.
