For square letterforms, if you think of the letters E, L, H, and T, those are based on the square shape. Circular letterforms would be C, G, O, and Q. For triangular letterforms, you have letters like A, V, and W. You can also combine shapes to create letters. If I took a square and a circle, I could draw a letter D.
